面对郑德龙的作品，色彩的洪流呼之欲出，有一种静止着的涌动感可以顺其自然地冲破视觉防线，并直抵人心深处。而这种力量的来源不在于戏剧化的情节冲突，或者繁缛的技法手段；他对内在冲动的表达方式率真而直接，画笔的行走过程类似肢体语言一样来得浑然天成，包括蜿蜒流动的线条，对比强烈的颜色搭配，以及从似是而非的形象里跳脱的狰狞表情。

我们也可以藉由其形象特征来仔细辨认出画面是只狗，或是张人的脸庞。然而却显得并不紧要，因为这些物象借以表达自己特质的肌理都被竭力地提取掉了，所留下的是足够架撑起一副完整情绪的最单纯结构。于是，诡谲、乖张、暴戾，都一一分明地拥进到观者的感官，给予人灵魂的撼动。在这些画幅里，具体的物象依循画者的意识被抽象描述，达到如表现主义者一般的情绪宣泄，且摒弃了抽象主义风格过于纯粹的冷漠。相对而言，他的介于似与不似之间的创作语言，把主观膨胀的生命体验蔓延开去，令主客双方的表意会意皆利落自如。

It happens naturally when you gaze at Zheng Delong's works a still movement would crash your vision and reach your heart; meanwhile the color seems to be washing out. Such a power doesn't come from the dramatic plots or complicated techniques on the canvas but the artist's honest and direct way to express his sentiments. His brush strokes physically move like a body language: graceful curves and lines with colors of high contrast to make ferocious looks popping out of ambiguous images.

The nature of these images leaves hints as well to tell if it is a dog or a human face, which is of little importance since all the corporal characteristics are erased but the simplest structure left to support an entire emotion. Oddity, bizarreness, and violence become sensual to the audience and touch their souls. Following the artist's will these figurative images in these paintings turn into abstract descriptions without the coldness of the abstract expressionism due to over simplicity and demonstrate feelings as in the expressionism. Relatively speaking, the similarity and non-similarity in the art of Zheng Delong expand his subjective life experience and achieve perfection to the signification given by the artist and received by the viewer.
